Native to the wet tropical forests of Colombia and Venezuela, the peace lily is not a lily at all, but an arum (the ancient plant family that also gave us anthuriums, monsteras and philodendrons). Spathiphyllum wallisii grows close to the forest floor, where warmth, humidity and filtered light remain remarkably steady through the year.
Where this seed came from and who it's related to — parents, siblings and far-flung cousins growing in other jungles across the dex.
