Harvested · lived 2 mo in EB:F8“8 potatoes growing in the top half”
From the high Andes, the Potato is a nightshade that moved its treasure underground: the tubers are really swollen stems, its eyes true buds, each one able to grow a whole new plant. Of note, its white-to-violet star flowers can set small green berries that appear tomato-like, seed-filled, and are typically poisonous — the potato's true fruit.
